What is the Prohibited List, maintained by the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA)?
This is a listing of a number of substances and technologies that are considered banned for elite athletes who are subjected to regular doping control testing. The list is updated annually by WADA and contains some specific substances, as well as many generic terms, that define whole classes of substances and chemical or biological methods that could be used to “cheat” in sport.
Because of the difficulties in fully defining such a list, the WADA prohibited list has to be general, and not limited in length (ie. it is an open-ended list).
